Does your smile help your chances of securing a job in this financial environment?
Dr Sultan Sherzoy, a cosmetic dentist in the US thinks so. In a report on www.google.com/news it is reported that many job seekers are having their teeth whitened in order to increase their chance of landing a job. Some are even having porcelain veneers put in the hope that this may increase their chances of success.
Dr Sherzoy says.
“People want to feel confident when they walk in the room for an interview.” “They want to put on their best smile. If their teeth are stained or crooked, they may not feel comfortable doing that. A lot of their true personality can be hidden behind a tarnished smile.”
“A simple procedure like whitening the teeth can take years off of someone’s appearance,” according to Sherzoy. “In today’s career marketplace, every little edge helps.”
Whether a beautiful smile actually helps people achieve employment or not doesn’t change the fact that people are aware of the potential for their appearance to affect employment.
